Students will get to explore an indoor oasis at Lava Island in Eden Prairie, MN! This large indoor playground is packed full of fun, including foam pits, trampolines, volcano slides, and much more! Sustainable Safari presents educational Wildlife Shows starring five different animals. Learn fun facts about these unique and beautiful animals up close! The National Eagle Center's naturalist interpreters will provide an engaging and entertaining live eagle presentation! Students will then get the opportunity to look around the Eagle Center's exhibits. We will be stopping at Wedgewood Park in Plainview, MN to have our sack lunches from home. Students will visit Woodbury’s 16,000-square-foot inclusive playground, Madison’s Place! The space features sun-shaded play decks, a variety of swings, and engaging sensory play equipment. Students will also have the opportunity to cool off and have fun on the splash pad. In this intriguing program, children use their imagination and keen observational skills to learn techniques historically employed by detectives and law enforcement. Students will be taking a trip to the Works Museum for a hands-on mini-catapult workshop and exploring the museum! Their interactive exhibits allow kids to complete electrical circuits, create connections with plumbing pipes, and build and test designs using K'NEX pieces, LEGO-style bricks, KEVA planks, and more! As they explore, students will discover the engineering behind infrastructure and everyday technology and engage with the engineering design process. We will be stopping at the Riverside Park in Cannon Falls, MN on our way to the museum to eat our sack lunches from home. Students will have the opportunity to explore nature firsthand at Whitewater State Park! Park staff will teach students about the bats that call Minnesota home, including a chance to observe some of the park’s resident bats up close. While enjoying their sack lunches from home in the picnic area, students will also learn how to identify differences between red and white varieties of several tree species.
